Procedure

An issue is a problem that requires a reaction because it interrupts, or could interrupt, production. To create an issue, proceed as follows:

  1. For your project, choose Quality Gates, Calendar View, or the System Landscape Graphic tab.

  2. With the cursor on a Q-Gate, choose the Quality Gate Details pushbutton.

    Note Note

If you are working with the System Landscape Graphic tab, you can only enter issues if the cursor is on a yellow Q-Gate (that is, not passed yet). The same applies to the Q-Gates selected from the Quality Gates tab: If the status is Passed for both the QM and the QAB, you can no longer enter issues. Note that if the status is Initial for the Scope to Build Q-Gate, you can add issues.

    • If the status is Initial for both the QM and the QAB, you cannot enter issues yet. Note that this does not apply to the Scope to Build phase.

    • If the status is Passed for both the QM and the QAB, you can no longer enter issues.

    End of the note.
  3. A dialog box displays for the Q-Gate. Here, choose the Issues tab. To create an issue, proceed as follows:

  4. Choose the Create Issue pushbutton.

  5. Fill in the Issue dialog box as follows:

    • Enter the Priority.

    • Enter the date by which the issue must be resolved (Due on).

    • Enter a Short Text for the issue.

    • If necessary, select a Subject from the dropdown options.

    • Select a Status from one of the following options:

      Status

      Meaning

      Open

The status of a newly created issue

      In Process

      The issue is being processed

      Draft

This is a draft version of the issue

  6. To save intermediately, choose the Save button. To finish, choose the Save and Back pushbutton.

  7. The issue has been created.

Assigning an Issue to a Q-Gate

You can assign existing issues to a Q-Gate in the current project. Proceed as follows:

  1. From the Quality Gate Details window, choose the Issues tab and then the Assign Issue pushbutton.

  2. A list of existing issues displays. Select the issue you want to assign and choose the Assign Issue pushbutton in this list display.

  3. The system returns to the Issues dialog box, where this issue is now displayed in the list of issues for the Q-Gate.

    Note Note

To see changes for issues, choose the Issue Change Log pushbutton.

    End of the note.
  4. Choose OK to get back to the Change Management workcenter.
