The test functions and tools in test option 2 are provided by SAP Solution Manager, SAP Test Data Migration Server, SAP Quality Center and SAP Test Acceleration and Optimization (SAP TAO). The following graphic illustrates the process.

Test Option 2: SAP Quality Center by HP

Process

  1. Identify the test scope.

    Perform the following process steps, depending on the change type:

    • New SAP solution: The SAP Solution Manager Business Blueprint functions design and document business processes, and catalog them hierarchically. The user departments formulate business requirements in the Business Blueprint. They assign manual and automatic test cases to the business processes in the Business Blueprint.

    • Update an existing SAP solution: You check whether important applications or critical business processes are affected by the update, with the SAP Solution Manager Business Process Change Analyzer.

  2. Plan the tests and set up test systems.

    • The SAP Test Data Migration Server supports the automatic creation of test systems with low data volume.

    • You prepare test requirements and test cases with the functions of SAP Quality Center by HP.

    • With SAP Test Acceleration and Optimization, you create or update test components for SAP GUI- or CRM Web UI-based transactions. You model automatic test cases based on test components.

  3. Perform the tests.

    You use the SAP Quality Center by HP, to perform and evaluate manual and automatic tests.
