Note Note

This function is not available by default. To be able to use it, you must purchase the SAP Solution Manager Adapter for SAP Quality Center by HP, and activate the function explicitly. For more information, see http://www.service.sap.com/solutionmanager. SAP Note 1285941 describes the installation of the adapter and related components.

End of the note.

You can edit business test requirement documents and test objects with the SAP Quality Center by HP and send them to the Quality Center (QC) to organize tests.

Integration

When you send the selected data from SAP Solution Manager to the SAP Quality Center by HP, the system creates a folder in the process structure for each selected structure node with business test requirement documents or test objects.

The quality manager can automatically create test cases from this structure and its stored information (business test requirement documents or test objects), or assign test cases to the business test requirements and then perform tests.

The results of the test cases are documented in the SAP Quality Center by HP. After saving in QC, the results are then automatically available in SAP Solution Manager as well.

If the testing activities lead to error messages (Defects in QC), the reported defects are also automatically synchronized with the corresponding ServiceDesk messages. The prerequisite for this is that the Defects in QC were also flagged and saved as SAP-relevant fields.

Features

The following additional functions are available in the Business Blueprint (SOLAR01) and in the Configuration (SOLAR02):

  • On the Transfer to SAP QC by HP Tab, you assign the documents and objects (which are transferred as test requirements or test objects) to the structure elements (scenarios, processes or process steps). The objects to be transferred are made available from their current assignment for the respective structure elements and their subelements.

  • If you use the Attributes of a document or test document on the Administration tab to enter keywords, these terms appear in the Quality Center as attributes of the corresponding nodes in the transferred structure.

  • You transfer the Business Blueprint data you selected to the Quality Center. To transfer data to the SAP Quality Center by HP, in the Business Blueprint transaction or Configuration, choose   Business Blueprint/Configuration   Send Data to Quality Center  .

  • You can also call up the dialog   Business Blueprint/Configuration   Send Data to Quality Center   from the Quality Center.

  • In the Quality Center, you can also define own fields and set which keywords from SAP Solution Manager are imported into these fields. You do this in Field Mapping under Defect Management in the Quality Center.

  • You can use the document type to set which documents are sent to the Quality Center structure nodes as an attachment. Documents assigned to the structure node are sent to the Quality Center as “attachments”. If you do not want all documents to be transferred, you can limit the transfer to certain document types. To do so, call up transaction SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN, then   Edit   Connection to HP Quality Center   Filter Document Types  .

  • You can see the results of the performed tests in Solution Manager. If you wish to get additional details on the test results, navigate to SAP Quality Center by HP.

Test Analysis for SAP Quality Center is available in the analyses.

Service Desk Integration

For SAP Solution Manager projects linked to the Quality Center, both reported errors in QC (defects) and Service Desk messages in Incident Management are synchronized automatically. This happens as soon as the error (defect) is flagged and saved as an SAP-relevant error. The error messages can only be changed within the System Responsible. The responsibility for an error message can be requested and passed on actively.

The interaction between QC defects and the Service Desk comprises the following activities:

  1. Reporting a defect in QC with a link to the Service Desk:

In the SAP Quality Center, create a Defect, describe the error and classify the Defect as a “SAP-relevant error”. This triggers a synchronization with a Service Desk message in the SAP Solution Manager Incident Management work center.

The corresponding Service Desk message is now available in the Incident Management work center. You can see the data from the Quality Center on the Context tab.

  2. Creating a Service Desk message for the Quality Center:

You can also create a message in the Service Desk of SAP Solution Manager and send it to the SAP Quality Center, for example in the Incident Management work center, with   Help   Create Support Message  .

Open the message in the Incident Management work center, and assign it to the HP Quality Center.

The message is now ready for processing in the Quality Center.

  3. Synchronizing messages:

Open the message or the “Defect”, in the Quality Center. If the Quality Center is not the Responsible System, request the Responsibility. The message can now be changed, a new assignment triggers the synchronization of the changes with SAP Solution Manager.

Changing a QC message in SAP Solution Manager works in a similar way. You have to first ensure that you are Responsible for the message, and then you can change it. A new assignment also triggers the actual synchronization in SAP Solution Manager.

  4. Deleting defects or messages:

For synchronized defects or messages, it suffices to delete them in one of the two systems, which is is only possible with the corresponding Responsibility. During the next synchronization, the deleted message is also deleted from the other system. For example, if a defect is deleted in the SAP Quality Center, it is automatically set to the status “Deleted in HPQC” in the SAP Solution Manager Service Desk.

  5. Solving the problem and closing the defect or message:

If you have found and entered a solution for the message or defect, the synchronized messages must be closed in SAP Solution Manager and in the Quality Center.
