You can create data distribution statistics, to get an overview of the share of data is used by which entities in your system landscape.

Prerequisites

See the prerequisites described under Statistics and Trends.

Procedure

  1. Under Statistics and Trends, select a scenario or system in the table and choose Data Assignment Statistics. The report can be embedded in the current window, or in a new window.

  2. For history-oriented dashboards, specify the period to be analyzed, in the time period parameter, and the analysis frequency, monthly or annually.

  3. Specify for which entities in your system landscape you want to carry out the analysis. You can use the following initial tab pages:

    • DVM KPI

    • Products

    • Systems

    • Application Area

    • Document Type

    • Archiving Object

    • Tables

    • Technical Classification

    Note Note

You can only show the data distribution for archiving objects if an archiving object analysis was scheduled in the Analysis view. You must have scheduled the analysis type Simple Archiving Object or Complex Archiving Object.

Because of the dependence of this report type on the scheduling of analysis jobs, and their parameters, this view does not give an overview of the entire database.

To display tables which are archived by more than one archiving object, you must have scheduled an analysis of the type Complex Archiving Object. For more information, see Analyses.

    End of the note.
  4. Select the information you want to display:

    • For the DVM KPI tab page, you can display data distribution with respect to the following information:

      • KPI History

      • KPI Details

      • Business Growth

      • Achievements

    • You can classify the results further, by SAP or user tables.

    • For the Products tab page, you can display data distribution with respect to the following information:

      • Summary

      • History

      • Top Growth (MB)

      • Top Growth (%)

      • Top Reduction (MB)

      • Top Reduction (%)

      • Deviation

      • Top Deviation (MB)

      • Top Deviation (%)

    • For the Systems, Application Area, Document Type, Archiving Object, and Tables tab pages, you have the same selection options as for the Products tab page. You can also refine the analysis under Details (Manual Input), for example, by specifying the number of input parameters of a system or object that you want to analyze.

    • For the Technical Classification tab page, you can display data distribution with respect to the following information:

      • Data Class

      • Size Category

  5. As soon as you have selected this option, the system loads the data from the Business Warehouse and generates the data distribution statistics.

Result

The system displays a detailed overview of the data distribution in your system landscape, consisting of the following information:

  • Graphical overview of the results as pie chart, bar chart, etc.

  • Conditions

You can define additional conditions that reduce the overall results to specific information. To do so, choose Create and make the following entries:

    1. Enter a name for the condition and specify whether the condition is to be active by selecting the relevant radio button.

    2. Define which characteristics are to apply for the condition.

    3. You can also refine the condition by specifying additional conditions with operators and the values you require.

    4. Confirm your entries.

The condition appears as a new row in the table.

    5. You can activate or deactivate existing conditions within the table by choosing the status pushbutton.

  • Navigation block

You can filter the overall results by specific characteristics and display the results in a table.

  • Tabular overview of the results
