For each project in the upper screen section, you can display and work with all relevant transport information in the Transports tab of the lower section.

Note Note

The cross-system object lock can be activated for objects in transport requests associated with QGM projects to prevent changes being made to an object in any other transport request. For more information, see Cross-System Object Lock.

Features

The Transports tab has the following columns:

Column

Meaning

Transport Request

ID of the transport request or requests for a project

Description

Textual description of the transport request

Owner

Name of the user who created the request

Status

Status of the transport request (modifiable or released)

Transport Copy

Numbers of copies of the transport request. Select the link to display all transports of copies that were generated, including detailed data for the transport requests involved.

Type of Request

Type of transport request (Workbench or Customizing)

Project

ID of the specific project involved

Change

ID of the change that the transport request belongs to

Critical Objects

Critical objects' status of the transport request

You can use the following functions on the Transports tab:

  • Create: You can create transport requests and transports of copies. For more information, see Working with Transport Requests and Creating Transports of Copies.

  • Maintain: You can maintain the detail data of a transport request, assign a developer, release and delete a transport request, decouple and reassign a transport request.

    Note Note

    Once you have released a transport request, it is locked in the Status column of the Transports tab and can no longer be changed.

    The functions under the Maintain pushbutton are:

    • Maintain Details of a Transport Request: Depending on your authorization, you can change the description and the owner of the transport. For more information, see Working with Transport Requests.

    • Assign Developer: You can assign further developer names to this request.

    • Release Transport Request: You can release an open transport request.

    • Reassign Transport Request: You can reassign a transport request to a different change. For more information, see Reassigning a Transport Request

    • Decouple Transport Requests: Using this function, you can separate a changeable transport request from its change. These transport requests are not controlled by QGM anymore. For more information, see Decoupling a Transport Request.

      If necessary, you can assign decoupled transport request to a project from the list of projects as follows:   Manage Transports   Assign Transport Requests  

    • Delete Transport Request: You can delete a transport request if it is empty.

  • Process Critical Objects: You can display and approve or reject the export of critical objects. For more information, see Process Critical Objects.
