Procedure documentation Upgrading Managed Systems  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

Once the managed systems have been technically upgraded, you upgrade your business scenarios using SAP Solution Manager.

Prerequisites

The target release of the upgrade is at least Web AS Release 6.20 SP41.

You have technically upgraded the managed systems.

Procedure

...

       1.      Create an upgrade project in Project Administration (see Create Upgrade Project).

       2.      In the Business Blueprint, create a project structure (see Create and Edit Project Structure / Solution Structure).

       3.      Determine the upgrade-relevant IMGactivities in your project structure:

Case a:

If no IMG activities are assigned to the project structure, continue with step 4.

Case b:

If IMG activities are already assigned to the project structure, you can:

       Distribute the Upgrade flag, to compare the IMG activities in the project with those in the view, and flag matching IMGactivities in the project structure as upgrade-relevant (Upgrade flag):

                                                  i.       In Project Administration, select an IMGproject for your project on the IMG Projects tab page.

                                                ii.       Choose Distribute Upgrade Flag.

The system flags the upgrade-relevant IMGactivities in the Configuration in the Upgrade Flag column on the Configuration tab page.

       To determine the upgrade-relevant IMG activities in the project view that are already in your upgrade project, compare the project with its project view:

                                                  i.       In Project Analysis in the Implementation/Upgrade work center, select the analysis Assignment of IMG objects in project views.

                                                ii.       Specify the project and view that you want to compare.

                                               iii.       Choose Execute.

The system displays the result in the project structure. You cannot copy the result into the Configuration automatically.

                                               iv.       Assign the displayed IMG activities to the project structure, in the transaction Configuration.

       4.      Determine the upgrade-relevant IMGactivities in your project view that are not in your upgrade project. These IMG activities may be relevant for your upgrade project:

                            a.      In Project Analysis, run the analysis Compare with Views.

                            b.      Assign the missing IMG activities to the project structure, in the Configuration transaction.

Note

You can define keywords for upgrade-relevance in Project Administration, assign them to structure items in the Configuration, and use them to filter the project structure, for example, by the keyword "Upgrade Phase 1".      

       5.      Configure the upgrade-relevant IMGactivities (see Configure).

       6.      Test your changes (see Test Management).

       7.      Delete the old logical component from your project in Project Administration System Landscape tab page Systems subtab page.
