When you edit job documentation, you put descriptive information about the job and specify its steps, in the General tab.

To edit the tab:
Enter a unique name for your job documentation, under Name.
Under Scheduler select the interface that is used to schedule the job.
Note
To document jobs for schedulers for which there is no entry in the Scheduler field, choose freely definable.

You can adjust the job scheduling dialog window to the requirements of the scheduler in Customizing for SAP Solution Manager under
. You can create several configurations.Choose a documentation status.
Select a documentation type.
Note
The documentation type distinguishes the jobs of job chains.
Specify the date until which the job documentation is valid.
Describe the job. Specify the tasks which the job performs.
To add a step, choose Add.
A dialog box appears.
Note
A job comprises at least one step.
Complete the following required entry fields for the step:

Required entry fields are indicated by *.
Enter a Description.
Choose the Type. The types you can choose depend on the scheduler selected.
Enter the program name (for example the name of the ABAP report) under Command.
You can specify, for example, the ABAP report variant under Parameter .
Save your entries with Copy.
The step appears in the table, with your data.
Create further steps, if required.
Note
If you have selected the scheduler BC-XBP, you can document more than one step per job.
You can edit the steps in the table as below:
If you have created a step that executes an ABAP report and have created a variant of the report, you can display the parameters of the variant. To do so, follow these steps:
Schedule using the BC-XBP interface
Choose
.Choose Find.
External scheduler
Choose a link in the Parameter/Variant column.
Choose Find.
To change the order of the steps to be performed:
Select the step in the table.
Select Up or Down in the context menu.
To edit a step:
Select the step in the table.
Choose Edit.
You go to a dialog box in which you can make your changes.
Copy your entries.
To remove a step:
Select the step.
Choose Remove.
You go to a dialog box.
Confirm with Remove.
Save your entries.
