This report copies SAP or customer transaction types into other customer transaction types. Associated entities, such as partner schemas, status and action profiles, date and text management, are also copied. You can also update or display customer transaction types.

Prerequisites

You are authorized to run the report (authorization object S_TCODE = AI_CRM_CPY_PROCTYPE or S_TCODE = AI_CRM_CPY_PTYPE_WEB).

Selection

Choose from:

  • Copying Transaction Types

    You can copy default transaction types from the SAP namespace into the customer namespace, or existing customer transaction types into other customer transaction types.

    Note Note

    If the last two characters of the target transaction type differ from the source transaction type, you are warned. You can ignore the warning, and continue to copy.

  • Update transaction type

    Note Note

    You can only update transaction types which were created with this report. You cannot update manually-created transaction types with this report.

    You can update transaction types, to adjust them for customers. The update can completely overwrite the customer transaction type with the SAP transaction type, depending on the update profile.

    You can also specify that the update only new action profile data, such as action definitions, etc. are copied from the source transaction type, and existing data in the customer transaction type is not overwritten.

    1. Choose Execute.

    2. In the following dialog box, choose Update Transaction Type, and the update mode Insert New Data (existing data is not overwritten) or Overwrite Existing Data with Default Settings.

  • Display transaction types

    You can display the entire Customizing for each existing transaction type. You get an overview of all Customizing settings, which is especially helpful for experienced consultants and SAP Support. The overview shows all the settings, without having to call Customizing directly.

Standard Variants

The following transaction types are in the SAP standard IT Service Management:

  • SMIN: Incident

  • SMIS: Incident (ISV)

  • SMIV: Incident (VAR)

  • SMIT: Incident Template

  • SMPR: Problem

  • SMPT: Problem Template

  • SMRQ: Service Request

  • SMRT: Service Request Template

You can use the following transaction types for knowledge articles:

  • KNAR: Knowledge Articles

Output

New or updated data is saved in a log table, for further analyses. You can see this data in the report Transaction Type - Analyze DB Log Table (AI_CRM_CPY_PROCTYPE_LOG).

Activities

  • To call this report, in SAP Solution Manager: Configuration (transaction SOLMAN_SETUP) choose the scenario   IT Service Management   Incident, Problem and Request Management  . In the step   Perform Standard Configuration   Manual Configuration   choose the activity Copy Transaction Type.

  • You can also call the report AI_CRM_CPY_PROCTYPE by entering the transaction name in the OK field. Run the report in the desired mode.

For further information about running the report, see the report documentation in the system. After copying, you can check the data of the new transaction type. Im SAP Solution Manager Customizing, under   Capabilities (Optional)   Change Management   Standard Configuration   Transaction Types  , choose the activities to compare the source and target transaction type data.
