This procedure specifies the availability of technical components. Work modes planned on a technical scenario or component are propagated or inherited by the underlying components. A propagated work mode is actually present and can be deleted. Whereas, an inherited work mode is not actually present and cannot be deleted.

The table below helps you to understand whether a work mode is inherited or propagated when it is planned for a technical scenario or component type.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the Technical Administration work center.

  2. Choose Work Mode Management.

  3. In the Type Selection area, select a component type.

  4. If you have selected a component type other than EEM Robots, perform the following:

    1. In the Detailed Selection area, select a query.

      You group technical components in queries for faster access.

    2. In the query, select the technical component.

    3. Choose Work Mode Management.

    4. Display the work modes, embedded or in a new window.

      A hierarchical view of the technical components and details of the current and next work modes are displayed.

    5. Select the component.

      The list of work modes for the component is displayed.

  5. If you have selected the component type EEM Robots, select a robot.

    The list of work modes for the robot is displayed.

  6. Choose Schedule Work Modes.

    Note Note

    To schedule work modes on components other than of type EEM Robots, you require information about the development of the workload over time. For information about how to display the workload of the system during a typical week, see Analyzing Work Modes.

  7. In the Schedule Work Mode for <technical component> screen area, enter the required data.

    You can plan only peak business hours, nonpeak business hours, or nonbusiness hours for an EEM robot.

  8. To copy information from the template, perform the following substeps:

    1. Choose Fill from Template.

    2. In the Pre-fill Parts of this Work Mode from a Template window, copy the required information from the template.

  9. If you are planning a periodic work mode, on the Scheduling tab page, set the occurrence of the work mode.

    Note Note

    In an SAP system, you can define location-specific calendars (such as the factory calendar). These calendars can incorporate both regional holiday regulations and location-specific company regulations.

  10. On the Description tab page, describe the purpose and effect of the work mode.

    You can upload documents to support you description.
