Creating Templates for Change Requests
If you often create change requests with the same data in your projects, you can create templates with the data that is always contained in your change requests. This allows you to minimize the time required to create a change request.
Note
Similar to change requests and change documents, templates for change requests are also based on business transactions. The transaction type provided for the change request template in the standard system is SMCT. Your settings are the same as those for the change request (SMCR), but there is a separate status profile and a separate date profile, allowing the validity of a change request to be specified.
You have maintained the copy conztol for transaction types so that the transaction type SMCT can be copied to SMCR, i.e. you have specified SMCT as source transaction type, and SMCR as target transaction type. In Customizing, choose .
In the navigation bar of the WebClient UI, choose .
On the following screen, you can search for existing templates or create a new template.
Choose New.
The system displays a blank input screen for a change request.
Enter all the data that is supposed to be part of your template and that you often need to create change requests, for example, the change manager, the change advisory board, and standard documents. Give your template a name.
In the Dates assignment block, specify the required validity of the template.
Choose .
The template can now be used (or can be used as of the validity period) to create change requests. You can process the template again, invalidate it temporarily, or close it completely, later.
Choose Save.
You have created a template for change requests. You can now display it in the search for templates for change requests and use it for creating change requests.
