Availability of Translations of Questions and Sections

The elements of questions and sections that are visible to the recipients of questionnaires can be translated and are then available in different languages.

For questions, translated versions are supported as follows:

Whether translated versions of the question and section elements are displayed depends on the translation status of the questions or sections. The status must be Translated. If the questions or sections have been translated but their status is still To Be Translated or In Translation, the elements are displayed in the original language of the question library.

Recipients of questionnaires only see the translated elements of questions and sections. Other users than recipients of questionnaires see the translated versions as described below.

Questionnaires

Questionnaire managers see the translatable elements of questions and sections of questionnaires in their logon language if translated versions exist in this language. If no translated versions exist, these elements are displayed in the original language of the question library.

Question Library

In the question libraries of both the supplier evaluation and the supplier qualification, the elements of questions and sections are always displayed in the original language of the question library.

Evaluation Scorecards

In the Score Details of evaluation scorecards, users can drill down to the level of questions and sections. The language in which the question and section elements are displayed depends on the languages for which the evaluation request preceding the scorecard was released by the purchaser. If the logon language of the user displaying the scorecard corresponds to one of the request languages, the user sees the translatable question and section elements in this language. Otherwise, the user sees the texts in the original language of the question library.

Example Example

A company has defined “English” as the original language of the question library for supplier evaluation. An evaluation request has been released for the languages “English”, “French”, and “Spanish”. The following situations can occur:

Purchaser A logs on to SAP Supplier Lifecycle Management in French and sees the questions and sections in French.
Purchaser B logs on to SAP Supplier Lifecycle Management in German. Since the request was not released for German, Purchaser B sees the questions and sections in the original language of the question library, that is, in English.

Flexible Qualification Requests

In flexible qualification requests, purchasers always build the questionnaire in the original language of the question library, and the request can only be sent out in this language. As a result, the question and section elements are always displayed in the original language of the question library.
