Translating Questions and Sections
When purchasers create questions or sections in the question library, they always create them in the original language. To enable a cooperation between the purchasers and the recipients of the questionnaires in several languages, you can translate questions and sections. This covers the following texts:
Question text
Explanation for the question
The possible answers
Section title
Explanation for the section
Translating questions and sections can be done in two ways:
Online, in the translation application.
Offline, in an XML file containing the exported content of the question library. For more information, see Exporting and Importing Questions and Sections.
This document describes the online translation.
At least one translation language for the questions or sections must have been defined in the question library.
To translate questions or sections, do the following:
Depending on the business process for which the question library is used, click Translate Question Library for Qualification
or Translate Question Library for Evaluation
.
To translate a question or section, select it on the corresponding tab. To find questions and sections that you need to translate more easily, you can sort the list by the status To be translated
.
Select the target language into which you are translating the question or section.
Change the status for the target language from To be translated
to In Translation
.
Note that the Status of All Translations
remains To Be Translated
or In Translation
until translations for all target languages are available.
Translate the question text, the corresponding explanation and the possible answers, or the section title and the corresponding explanation. You can find possible answers to a question, if they exist, on a separate tab.
When you have finished, set the status for your target language to Translated
.
Note
You can enter text in the Internal Note
to communicate with the person who created the question or section. If the Internal Note
already contains text, we recommend that you do not overwrite this text but add your text to the note. The system does not store previous versions of a note.
For general information about working with the questions and sections lists, such as personalizing, filtering, and sorting, see SAP List Viewer for Web Dynpro in the documentation for SAP NetWeaver at http://help.sap.com/nw
