 Distribution of Change Authorizations

Use

To assign change authorizations to technical objects, you transfer the change authorizations from one system to another (holder switch) and distribute the information about which system currently has the change authorization between the systems involved.

Prerequisites

You are familiar with the overall concept for assigning change authorizations .

You have selected the required UPS package types for the different data transport options in the function for manually forwarding change authorization. If required, you have specified that the change authorization for a maintenance plan together with the change authorization for the technical object assigned to it is sent in the same distribution run.   • Automatic transfer of change authorization

    If a technical object is relocated via a purchase requisition and the resulting goods issue posting (utilizer switch), and a system switch takes place, all dependent equipment data is determined automatically, the change authorizations of the objects are adjusted accordingly, and these are sent to the new logical system using an automatically generated UPS package.

    The decentralized system of the utilizer contains the change authorization.

  • Manual transfer of change authorization

    You use the Distributed Maintenance – Forward Change Authorization application (transaction /ISDFPS/PMCP1) to manually forward change authorizations to a logical system independently of the automatic transfer.

    Objects that depend directly on the objects you selected and whose change authorization is to be transferred are determined using explosion profile DFPS_PMAEB. Data that is indirectly dependent is determined using explosion profile DFPS_PMAEN in a second explosion.

    Alternatively, you can transfer change authorizations to another system using a data carrier (as part of an offline relocation of technical objects). In this case, the system creates a separate UPS package for each object determined.

  • Monitoring for transfer of change authorizations

    The application Monitor: Transfer Change Authorization (transaction /ISDFPS/PMDISRUN1) provides an overview of all UPS packages involved in the transfer of change authorizations.

  • Distribution of change authorization

    So that all systems involved recognize which system is the holder of a technical object, this information (from table /ISDFPS/PM_CP) is distributed between the central system and the corresponding decentralized systems.
