 Relocation of Technical Objects

Use

You can assign one or more technical objects of a force element to another force element by relocation. This can take place within an SAP system or between systems through change of ownership, utilizer, and holder (see also Distribution of Technical Objects ).

The technical objects could be aircraft, trucks, weapon systems, or boats, or even resources (tugs, cranes, and so on).

Prerequisites

The following prerequisites must be met:

  • The technical object is assigned to a force element.

  • Number ranges are set for orders, notifications, and measurement documents (see also Number Range Monitoring ).

  • For changes to the master data or movement data, you have made the necessary settings in Customizing under Start of the navigation path Defense Forces & Public Security Next navigation step Maintenance Next navigation step Define Permitted Movement Types End of the navigation path .

Features

Changes to Master and Movement Data

After a goods issue has been posted, the system automatically makes the following changes to the master data and movement data in the target force element:

  • It changes the responsible work center and location/account assignment data of the highest-level functional location and master equipment to the new responsible work center of the target force element. The system determines the new responsible work center by searching upwards in the organizational structure. Inheritance ensures that the corresponding data is transferred to the technical objects of the functional location structure.

  • It changes the responsible work centers in maintenance items for technical objects to the responsible work centers of the target force element.

  • It changes the responsible work center in all orders and notifications for the technical objects that are still open.

  • You can prevent changes to the account assignment data in Customizing for Start of the navigation path Defense Forces & Public Security Next navigation step Distributed System Landscape Next navigation step Distributed Maintenance Next navigation step Application-Specific Settings Next navigation step BAdI: Define and Check CO Data Transfer End of the navigation path .

Stock Information for Equipment in Stock in Transit

For equipment for which the stock is in transit (stock type 06: transit), the receiving storage location from the related stock transport order is displayed. When equipment is displayed (transaction IE03), this information is displayed on the Ser. Data (serial data) tab.

Relocation Monitor

You can use the relocation monitor to display the assignments of technical objects to the force element. You mainly use it to check the data in the target system and correct it if required. The relocation monitor checks whether:

  • the responsible work center has been changed

  • the location and account assignment data has been changed

You start the relocation monitor using transaction /ISDFPS/PMRELOC1 (SAPEasy Access menu: Start of the navigation path Logistics Next navigation step Plant Maintenance Next navigation step Distribution Next navigation step Technical Object Relocation Monitor End of the navigation path ).

The relocation process information displayed by the relocation monitor includes the following:

  • Equipment/Functional Location structure for master equipment

  • Maintenance orders for master equipment as well as all objects of the Equipment/Functional Location structure

  • Notifications for master equipment as well as all objects of the Equipment/Functional Location structure

  • Maintenance plan items for master equipment as well as all objects of the Equipment/Functional Location structure

Technical Report (Status Board)

You can call the Technical Report at any time during the relocation process for each technical object to access detailed information about the status of the objects to be relocated. This report corresponds to the status board .

Multisystem Landscape

The following also applies for relocations across system boundaries:

  • Technical objects are first relocated from the central system to a decentralized system, then between any systems. The structure data of the technical object is always relocated from the sending to the receiving system.

  • Once relocation is complete, you can no longer make changes to the structure of the technical object (dismantle/install equipment) in the issuing system. This is ensured by the change authorization function.
