Distribution of Customizing Settings Customizing settings that are made in the production system usually cannot be transported. To ensure that systems are consistent in a distributed system landscape, Customizing settings that were made in the central system must also be transported to the decentralized systems.
In the central system, you have activated table logging for the Customizing settings (parameterrec/client). For more information, see SAP Library at
You have used report /ISDFPS/WBO_CHANGE_TBL_LOGGING (transaction /ISDFPS/CHA_TBL_LOG) once to restrict logging to the tables relevant for the
Defense Forces & Public Security
component. These tables are defined by default in table /ISDFPS/ALE_TAB. You can include additional tables as required. You can also specify that the Customizing settings that are defined using these tables can be changed in the production system.
Note
If necessary, you can use report/ISDFPS/WBO_RESET_TBL_LOGGING (transaction /ISDFPS/RES_TBL_LOG) to reset this setting to the default setting. However, changed Customizing settings are retained.
You have defined system
CL5
in your transport landscape. This entry is required since the system uses a transport request of type
Transport of Copies
with target system CL5 for Customizing distribution.
All new Customizing settings made in the relevant tables in the central system are logged. The report
DFPS Distribute Customizing Using Table Log
(transaction /ISDFPS/BDXE) creates a transport request using the table log. This request contains all of the new Customizing settings and can be used to distribute the Customizing settings to all relevant decentralized systems.
To distribute data regularly in day-to-day operation, proceed as follows:
Start the
DFPS Distribute Customizing Using Table Log
application.
In the
Date
field, enter the required start date for logging the tables.
Under
Selections for the Transport System
, specify whether only a detailed log is to be issued, or whether the created transport request is to be released immediately.
Choose
Execute.
The
Display Logs
application appears.
If you released the transport request immediately , the transport request, which is created and released automatically, is displayed.
The next two rows contain additional information about the transport: the number of rows and tables that were changed.
If you only wanted to output a detailed log, the transport request is displayed with the message that it has not yet been released .
All the logged Customizing settings (affected tables, changes that have been made) are listed beside the message.
Call the long text by choosing the
Help
pushbutton in the first row of the table to the right of the transport request number.
In the long text, choose the link
Display Transport Request
.
The
Transport Organizer
application appears. Here you can process and release the transport request as usual.
