 Definition/Modification of Number Range Intervals

Use

From the central checking system, you can define the required number range intervals in all the systems involved. Checking reserved number range intervals helps you to define cross-system intervals without overlaps.

Prerequisites

In order for number range intervals to be defined automatically, you have reserved number range intervals and checked the reservations.

Features

You can:

  • Navigate from the central system to the standard applications for defining number range intervals manually

  • Specify that number range intervals are to be defined/modified automatically on the basis of the reservations made centrally

Activities

You are working in the central checking system in the Central Number Range Check application (transaction /ISDFPS/GNR_CHECK) and have run a number range check . Your reservations do not contain any errors.

Manual Definition

You are in the results log.

  1. Select a row and choose Choose NR Object .

  2. Choose NR Maintenance in Remote System .

The standard Number Ranges application (transaction SNUM) of the selected system appears.

  3. Define the required number range intervals manually. Include your check results.

Automatic Definition

You are in the results log.

  1. Select one or more rows and choose Choose NR Object .

  2. Choose Manipulate Remote System .

The appropriate number range intervals are created or changed in the selected system in line with your reservations.

The system displays a change log.

The next time number range data is determined and checked, the intervals defined previously as reservations are displayed as current intervals and checked.
