 Display JIT Calls

Use

This function has been developed specifically for the automotive industry but can also be used in other industries. A manufacturer can use this to provide a supplier (and this supplier a further subsupplier) with information about the materials to be delivered.

The subsupplier can find out about requirements in the manufacturers’ system by displaying JIT calls in the Internet application. The supplier has access to all relevant data, such as call component, delivery time, sequence and unloading point. For the supplier – subsupplier scenario, the system uses the component JIT-Outbound in the SAP Automotive System.

Prerequisites

The supplier must use outbound JIT processing.

Procedure

  1. In the Workplace, choose Display sequenced JIT calls.

The system displays a list of the calls that are assigned to your supplier. The time period, for which the calls are selected, is normally three days as a standard setting; that means, a period starting one day before today and ending one day after today.

  1. You can restrict or extend the list by choosing Search Criteria , entering a production number and/or modifying the time period. If you want to display one call only, enter the external release number or the sequence number.

The system displays the calls that exist for your selection.

  1. If you choose Settings in the selection area, you can make and save a range of settings in the group box Default Settings . These settings are then effective in the function.

View: set the sequence view or material view for the function. In the material view, the supplier or subsupplier can see which materials must be delivered to the manufacturer in the period entered. The system displays the total quantity to be delivered for each material.

In the sequence view, the subsupplier can see in which sequence the manufacturer or supplier produces. The subsupplier can then stage the parts delivered for production accordingly.

Supplier: select a supplier. The system then displays the calls for this supplier.

Plant: enter a plant, for which the system is to display the calls.

Time offset- and time offset+: enter how many days before and after today’s date the system is to begin and end the selection of calls.

Status: the system displays calls with the status for this interval only.

  1. Save your settings.

  • You can sort the calls in ascending or descending order for the production number, sequence number and date criteria.

  • You can change the default view.

  • If the list only consists of one entry, the system displays details for this call in the lower screen area. If there are several entries, the system displays details for the first entry.

  • After you select a call, the system displays details for the selected call in the lower screen area, such as customer product number, plant, destination, and so on. The system may also display text items.

  • You can also upload JIT calls in XML format by choosing the button XML Display .
