Material Ledger Migration to Universal Journal Entry
This feature migrates material ledger data to the new universal journal entry table ACDOCA (Universal Journal Entry Line Items
).
There is no separate Customizing activity for this feature. The material ledger data is migrated automatically when you carry out the Migrate Balances
activity in Customizing.
Only period totals records are migrated. No migration of material ledger documents, summarization records, or index table CKMI1 takes place. Details of the migration are described in the following.
Migration of Period Totals Records – Balance Carryforward
Material ledger period totals records (CKMLPP, CKMLCR) are migrated to table ACDOCA as special migrated total
entries, analogous to FI total / balance records. They are enriched by attributes that can be derived from the material assignment: G/L Account
, Profit Center
, and Segment
.
In order to find the account assignment, the current configuration is used; no historical deviations are taken into account. This might lead to differences between FI and ML totals when looking at a time frame in the past. However, current and future data are aligned and can be reported together.
Furthermore, only attributes relevant to inventory account balances are migrated (quantity, amount). From these ACDOCA totals records, a balance carryforward can be created containing the ML attributes, in particular the material assignment. However, since partner attributes of the original postings are missing in the totals records, reporting is limited to FI data when expanding such attributes (for example, partner cost center, sales order, production order, or other receivers).
Migration of Documents
No migration of material ledger documents takes place.
Compatibility views will cover all accesses to MLHD, MLIT, MLPP, MLCR, MLPPF, MLCRF, and MLPRF including statistical records that do not exist in ACDOCA.
Migration of Summarization Records
No migration of material ledger summarization records takes place. Compatibility views will cover all accesses to MLCD including statistical records that do not exist in ACDOCA.
Migration of Index (CKMI1)
No migration of material ledger index table CKMI1 takes place. Compatibility views will cover all accesses to CKMI1, including statistical records that do not exist in ACDOCA.
