Funds Center Derivation Within the financial management area (FM area) organizational unit, funds centers are used to divide the structure into areas of responsibility. The funds centers responsible within the organizational and operational structures are automatically determined using the cost center assignment in the force element.
The standard SAP system derivation function (transaction FMDERIVE) is used to derive the funds center from the cost center of a force element. The derivation strategy is used to map account determination for Funds Management taking the fiscal master data model into account.
The
Funds Management
component is active.
You are familiar with the standard funds center derivation.
When the status is changed from
Planned
to
Requested
, the
funds center derivation workflow
is automatically triggered for the person responsible for Funds Management. This person is then provided with an object overview that indicates whether a funds center derivation exists for the force element to be approved.
This object overview is provided for information purposes only. It informs the person responsible for Funds Management that a structural change has been made in the
Structures
Workbench
.
The following functions are available for follow-up actions:
Calendar day-based derivation of the funds center from the cost center currently assigned to a force element.
You call up this function from the workflow item.
Display of the funds center in the
Structures Workbench
and link to the application for the derivation strategy. For more information, see
Account Assignment and Budgeting
.
For force elements that inherit a cost center from a superior force element, the funds center determined on the basis of the superior cost center in accordance with the derivation rule is also automatically inherited.
Note
The above scenario applies only if the funds center is derived on the basis of the cost center maintained in the force element. Alternatively, the funds center can be derived from the WBS element.
