Transfer of DFPS-Specific Master Data to SAP SCM

Use

For the planning processing in SAP Supply Chain Management ( SAP SCM ), force elements and their supply relationships that use the Defense Forces & Public Security component must be integrated with SAP SCM. This integration is achieved via APO Core Interface (CIF).

For general information on CIF see the SAP SCM section of SAP Library under Start of the navigation path Advanced Planning andOptimization Next navigation step Integration via APO Core Interface End of the navigation path .

Prerequisites

  • You have made the basic settings for setting up the system landscape and transferring data via CIF. For more information, see Integration with SAP Components in the Implementation Guide .

  • In Customizing for SAP SCM, you have made the following settings:

    • You have set the External Material Group and Relevant for Transportation Lanes for a product group types.

To make this setting, choose Start of the navigation path Advanced Planning and Optimization Next navigation step Master Data Next navigation step Product Next navigation step Product Groups Next navigation step Define Product Group Types. End of the navigation path

    • You have set the CIF Creation indicator for one or more means of transport.

To make this setting, choose Start of the navigation path Advanced Planning and Optimization Next navigation step Master Data Next navigation step Transportation Lane Next navigation step Maintain Means of Transport. End of the navigation path

  • The force elements and supply relationships that you want to transfer must have the planning status Active .

Features

CIF carries out mapping when the data is transferred.

The means of transport for which the CIF Creation indicator is set in Customizing are assigned to the transportation lane.

Activities

  1. You create an integration model.

To create an integration model, choose Start of the navigation path Central Functions Next navigation step Supply Chain Planning Interface Next navigation step Core Interface Advanced Planner and Optimizer Next navigation step Integration Model Next navigation step Create End of the navigation path in the SAP menu.

You define the relevant materials and include the force elements in the integration model by setting the relevant indicator. The system automatically selects the supply relationships for these force elements.

You can further restrict the objects to be transferred by setting more detailed selection criteria.

    • By selecting a usage type, you define that the system explodes the organizational structure to which the specified force element belongs, and how this is done. When the structure is exploded, the system determines all force elements of this organizational structure that are linked by supply relationships, and automatically selects these force elements as well.

As soon as you specify a usage type, the system always determines the corresponding organizational structure and the supply relationships. For performance reasons, we recommend that you enter only one force element for each organizational structure.

    • If you do not specify a usage type, the system does not explode the organizational structure. In this case, the system determines the force elements that can be reached directly via supply relationships from the specified force elements. These are automatically selected.

    • You can use Stock , Provisions and Stock , and Provisions to define whether CIF selects a force element with stock, with provisions, or with stock and provisions for the transfer.

  2. You activate the integration model.

To activate the integration model, choose Start of the navigation path Central Functions Next navigation step Supply Chain Planning Interface Next navigation step Core Interface Advanced Planner and Optimizer Next navigation step Integration Model Next navigation step Activate End of the navigation path in the SAP menu.

  3. The system transfers the selected force elements and their supply relationships (initial transfer).

  4. If you change the address data or supply relationship for a force element in the ERP system, the system writes ALE change pointers. You must transfer these change pointers to SAP SCM manually or at regular intervals by means of a background job.
