 Creating an HU Storage Location

Use

From the Material Categories Planning application, you can create a new handling unit (HU) storage location, without leaving the workbench or switching to Customizing .

Prerequisites

You have used the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Logistics - General to familiarize yourself with the procedure for defining HU storage locations, by choosing Start of the navigation path Handling Unit Management Next navigation step Basics Next navigation step Materials Management Next navigation step Inventory Management Next navigation step HU Requirement for Storage Locations and Default Values for Deliveries End of the navigation path .

You have defined the options for selecting storage location names in Customizing for Defense Forces and Public Security by choosing Start of the navigation path Materials Management Next navigation step DefineName Determination for Storage Locations End of the navigation path .

The force element selected must be assigned an MRP area.

Procedure

  1. Call up the Material Categories Planning application (transaction /ISDFPS/LPL1).

  2. Load a force element.

  3. Choose the Stock/Provisions tab page.

  4. Choose Change MRP Area.

    The Change MRP Area screen appears.

  5. Choose the Stor. Loc. tab page.

  6. Choose HU Storage Location .

  7. Create a storage location:

    • Manually

      Set the HU Requirement indicator and enter the partner storage location, vendors, and customers.

    • Automatically

      The system creates automatically a new storage location with an associated partner storage location. The Vendor and Customer fields are filled with default values.

  8. Choose Back.

  9. Choose Save.

    Note Note

    For manual entry, the following applies: The stock storage location for a force element must not be an HU storage location. Input help for the Partner Storage Location field therefore contains only those storage locations for which the following applies:

    End of the note.

    • They belong to the stock MRP area of the accountable force element.

    • They are not indicated as requiring HUs.

    • They are not assigned to a force element as a stock storage location.
