Advice Code This function is used to provide the user (for example, MRP controller) with additional information about a logistics operation.
You define the advice code at item level.
The application
Automatic Creation of Purchase Orders from Requisitions
(transaction ME59) has been enhanced as follows:
Stock transport requisitions with or without an advice code that are marked for automatic further processing can be converted to stock transport orders automatically.
Stock transport requisitions with an advice code that are marked for manual further processing must be excluded from the automatic purchase order creation process.
Stock transport requisitions with an advice code, for which the “Requisition Closed” indicator is set, are set to “Closed” if the availability check determines that they cannot be converted to stock transport orders.
In the processing log, a note is output if, on the basis of a corresponding advice code, no purchase order was generated due to zero stock.
If you have defined a status code in the Customizing table for the combination of document type and advice code, the system assigns this code to the purchase requisition.
You have defined the required advice codes in Customizing for
Defense Forces and Public Security
by choosing
.
The
Advice Code
function is dependent on the availability check (
Materials Management
component). The advice code takes effect only if the availability check returns a negative result, that is, if the check determines that the material is
not
available.
Note
If, contrary to your expectations, the advice code is not set, you need to check the Customizing settings by choosing .
The checking rules for the
Stock Transport Order
document must explicitly enable the availability check to be carried out. Also check the checking group for the availability check in the material master.
A purchase requisition can have different document types. Several advice codes can be created for a document type.
A Customizing table is used to control how the purchase requisition document types are to be managed. This table is required for plausibility checks. In this table, you define which advice codes can be used for which document type.
The assigned processing indicator indicates whether the purchase requisition is to be processed further manually or automatically.
The
Cl.
indicator controls whether a purchase requisition is to be set to
closed
if the material is not available.
If the
RDE (Return Delivery Exclusion)
indicator is set, a purchase requisition cannot be created for a return delivery.
If the material is not available and the
Cl.
indicator is set, the combination of document type and advice code can be assigned a status code.
The advice code is used in the following
Logistics
applications:
Stock Transport Requisition
Stock Transport Order
Reservation
If you create the purchase requisition, you can enter the advice code
manually
at item level on the
Codes
tab page.
The advice code is transferred from the stock transport requisition to the stock transport order.
In a purchase order, you can copy the advice code from the main item to the subitems of the purchase order. If you change the advice code in the main item, the system automatically updates the subitem with the new advice code.
The advice code does not have a controlling effect in the reservation.
