Work Clearance Management is connected with Document Management. Through this, you obtain, for example, a link between an existing design drawing of a technical object and the corresponding WCM object .

In principle you can assign all document typesto a WCM object.

In Customizing for Work Clearance Management under Define Document Types you have assigned the document types to be used to the WCM objects.
