Use

Like all master data, batches are primarily created in the central system and distributed to the decentralized systems.

However, an external procurement process for materials that are subject to batch management requirements (such as medical material) can be triggered from a decentralized system. In this case, you create the required batch master records in the decentralized system.

The batch master records are transferred by means of PDR to the central system and distributed to the other decentralized systems.

After the procedure has been concluded, the system handles the batch master records as if they had been created in the central system, in other words, the master records can only be changed in the central system.
