 Distribution of Technical Objects

Use

The data for technical objects and their dependent objects can be distributed between the central system and the decentralized systems of the owner, utilizer, and holder of a technical object.

Prerequisites

You are familiar with the different assignments of a technical object to force elements.

You are familiar with the change authorization concept for maintenance objects.

Features

The system supports the following distribution directions:

  • Distribution from the central system to the decentralized system of the owner

When a force element is distributed to a decentralized system, the system distributes the technical objects assigned to the force element using relationship 820 (owner assignment).

  • Distribution from the central system to the decentralized system of the utilizer

When a force element is distributed to a decentralized system, the system distributes the technical objects assigned to the force element using the stock storage location (utilizer assignment).

    Note Note

So that the systems involved recognize which system is the utilizer of a technical object, the data in table EQBS (in which this information was stored when the incoming goods were received) is distributed in these systems.

    End of the note.
  • Distribution from the central system to the decentralized system of the holder

Data for which a decentralized system has change authorization (holder assignment) cannot be changed in the central system. Changes to be distributed accordingly do therefore not exist centrally.

    Note Note

So that all systems involved recognize which system is the holder of a technical object, this information (from table /ISDFPS/PM_CP) is distributed between the central system and the corresponding decentralized systems.

    End of the note.

However, the system can use report Start of the navigation path Distributed Maintenance – Central Next navigation step Decentralized (Holder) End of the navigation path (Report /ISDFPS/PM_DIS_SEND_CENTRAL), which is scheduled to run regularly in the central system, to populate the holder system with dependent data that is not covered by change authorization and that can therefore be changed only in the central system (for example, BOMs or task lists).

  • Distribution from decentralized systems to the central system

The Distributed Maintenance – Redistribution of PM Data report (report /ISDFPS/PM_REDISTRIBUTION) is scheduled to run regularly in decentralized holder systems. The system can use this report to distribute changes made in decentralized systems to the central system.
