Directly Dependent Business Function Requiring Activation in Addition

Not relevant

You can use this business function to integrate SAP Enterprise POS (or any other intelligent POS system) with SAP ERP. Enterprise services enable you to replicate data of articles, merchandise hierarchies, prices, bonus buys and promotions from SAP ERP to SAP Enterprise POS, and to replicate transaction data from SAP Enterprise POS to SAP POS Data Management.

Integration

POS Integration provides both downstream and upstream scenarios. One of the key processes within POS integration is the transfer of master data to the POS application. The POS data download provides outbound messages for both initial and delta downloads to the POS system. This data is downloaded from SAP ERP to SAP Enterprise POS while taking into account the current store assortment.

The architecture within the upstream scenario comprises SAP Enterprise POS which acts as the sending POS system. SAP Enterprise POS calls the appropriate enterprise service for processing TLog data in SAP POS Data Management (located in BI Content).

Features

All store-relevant assortment data is determined and made available to the POS, based on validity dates. The following data can be transferred using different enterprise services:

  • Article data and price data

Inventoried and value-only article types in various article categories (single article, generic article, etc.) are predefined with their attributes, for example units of measure and sales conditions.

  • Bonus buy rules

With the bonus buy download, prerequisites, requirements and conditions required for determination of bonus buy rules in the store are transferred to the POS.

  • Promotions

Promotions are a marketing instrument usually planned on the enterprise level and triggered by an event (such as Easter sale, end of season, etc.). They have a start and an end date.

  • Merchandise category hierarchy

The merchandise category hierarchy provides a structure to the logical grouping of hierarchy groups in the enterprise system. Merchandise categories consist of groupings of articles. Categories and hierarchies are used at the POS to manage articles with common attributes.

All sales transactions logged by the POS system can be transferred to POS Data Management via a BI inbound service.
