 Change in Account Management

Purpose

It is possible to change the account management of vostro and nostro accounts.

This change is effected on certain key dates and is stored on the account. Change in account management takes place for cost reducing reasons. The banks can agree this individually among themselves, as the reconciliation of nostro accounts requires additional effort.

Prerequisites

You must have created a product with the feature bank account in the Implementation Guide (IMG).

Prerequisite for the change is that it is effected exactly one day after the last balancing. It is not possible to effect a change on another date.

Process flow

It is possible to change the bank account category (this differentiates between the bank accounts vostro/nostro) on a time-dependent basis. On a certain, freely definable key date it is possible to change the nostro account to a vostro account and vice versa. This does not change the product. The account is still of the product bank account.

After the change, value dates in the past and postings in former account (backdated) to the period before the change are possible. The adjustments are made by the account managing bank.

However, changing a vostro account to a nostro account and vice versa is only possible when account balancing for the account is executed. The system makes the appropriate checks.

Additionally, when the account manager changes, the account holder must also change. Changing the account manager and the account holder must be done manually.

Procedure

In the application, go to the account you wish to change.

In the master data of an account you can see, on the one hand, of what bank account category the account in question is. On the other hand, the time breakdown icon provides you with an instrument with which you can inform the system of the change cycle.

  1. In the account master data, go to the screen "Balancing" and check the next balancing date.

  2. In the account master data, choose the screen "Basic data".

  3. Choose the icon "Time breakdown".

  4. Enter as of when the change is to be valid. (Balancing date plus one day)

  5. Specify the bank account category.

  6. Specify the new account manager and account holder.

  7. Save your entries.

When changing from nostro to vostro accounts, it is possible that the vostro and nostro bank reach different results for the interest and charge calculation for the same period. This can be due to different conditions and different value dates. The account managing bank must adjust this result after the change. By choosing Start of the navigation path Account Next navigation step Environment Next navigation step Balancing Next navigation step Nostro account End of the navigation path you can edit the correct interest and charges manually.

Value dates in the past and postings to prior periods to periods before the account management change are possible. The balancing adjustments are always initiated/posted by the account managing bank.
