New Row Counter in ALV Lists

You can use this function to display the number of entries listed in reports for Plant Maintenance and Quality Management. If you choose to display the Count. (counter) table column, the system displays the total number of displayed entries in a separate row at the beginning or at the end of the table, as well as above the table. When you select a table column and group according to the values in that column by choosing Subtotal, the system displays the total number of entries as well as the subtotals for each group in the Count. table column.

You can also use this function independently of the business function Enterprise Asset Management Part 7 (LOG_EAM_CI_7).

Effects on Existing Data

In the column set of the ALV lists, there is a new table column called Count. (counter). If you choose to display the Count. table column, the system lists the total number of displayed entries in a separate row at the end of the table. If you change the layout and choose the Display tab page, you can choose the checkbox Display totals lines above the entries so that the total number of entries is displayed at the beginning of the table.

You can only use this function in ALV lists.

Example

You are working in the order list and have chosen to display the Count. table column. At the end of the table, the system displays the total number rows, which in our example is 21. If you select the table column Entered by and choose Subtotal, the system groups the table according to the names of the people who created the orders. The system then shows that there are 5 rows for JOHNDOE and 16 rows for JANEDOE.
