With this feature, you can transport global process route templates for Engineering Records between systems and clients in your system landscape via Customizing requests. In the destination system and client, you can activate the global process route template and make it available as a process route template, which, in turn, serves as the basis for a process route.
For more information, see Process Route on the Web UI and Global Process Route Template.
With this feature, you can map agents maintained in your global process route templates from other systems and clients (Source Agent) to agents in your current system and client (Target Agent). This may be necessary if, for example, a source agent does not exist or does not have the same ID in the current system and client.
For more information, see Global Process Route Template.
With this feature, you can manually or automatically determine the agents for tasks in your process routes via the Team Definition
tab in the engineering record.
The individual agents determined based on the combination of agent type and agent ID will now appear on the Team Definition
tab beside the Process Route
tab and you can make further manual refinements by selecting or deselecting the individuals assigned to specific tasks. For example, if the agent is an organizational unit, you will see a list of all employees assigned to that organizational unit and only the employees that are selected for a task in the team definition will receive the workflow for that task.
For more information, see Agent Determination.
With this feature, you can define and group decisions, and assign a group of decisions to a process route activity.
If you have to make decisions about how to proceed within a change request, you can make them during the approval process. The system can then handle further processing of the approval with background tasks.
To enable this feature, select the Allow Advanced Process Route Features
checkbox in Customizing activity Make Settings for Engineering Records
under .
For more information, see Customizing activity Define and Assign Decisions
under .
With this feature, you can define services to automate certain processes and include them into the approval process. To do this, you can assign a service to a background task when a task is defined in the process route table. These tasks can be, for example, to move the engineering record to a next status, or to move it to a previous status if a process route activity is rejected.
To enable this feature, select the Allow Advanced Process Route Features
checkbox in Customizing activity Make Settings for Engineering Records
under .
For more information, see Customizing activity Define Background Services
under .
With this feature, you can start the approval process with the Start Approval
button. Based on predefined rules, the system can then move the engineering record to the appropriate status and load the corresponding approval steps. Thus, a status change does not trigger the approval process for engineering record types for which you have allowed this.
To enable this feature, select the Allow Advanced Process Route Features
checkbox in Customizing activity Make Settings for Engineering Records
under .
For more information, see Customizing activity Set Up Rule-Based Status Determination
under .
With this feature, you can explicitly assign decisions to process route activities after defining them. The Save and Complete
button is available to complete the approval step directly from the engineering record.
For more information, see Customizing activity Define and Assign Decisions
under .
With this feature, you can specify how the system loads process route templates, according to predefined rules. If you use different approval steps for different approval phases, the system can load these predefined templates into the engineering record when a status change occurs.
To enable this feature, select the Allow Advanced Process Route Features
checkbox in Customizing activity Make Settings for Engineering Records
under .
For more information, see Customizing activity Set Up Automatic Template Determination
under .
With this feature, you can set up rules to control the path of the approval in the status network for engineering records.
If this function is active for an engineering record type, then by triggering the start of the approval workflow with the Start Approval
button, the system automatically moves the change request from one phase to another according to the predefined rules. These settings can also be used by background services that allow the system to make automatic status changes, if you have previously defined the rules in BRFplus.
To enable this feature, select the Allow Advanced Process Route Features
checkbox in Customizing activity Make Settings for Engineering Records
under .
