Aggregate
Cumulative event
Collective invoice
Collective subrogation/recovery
Accident event
The
Collective Invoice
,
Collective Subrogation/Recovery
and accident event categories represent special forms and also contain other functions in addition to the standard functions.
For more information, see Collective Invoice , Collective Subrogation/Recovery and Accident Event .
In IMG activity
Define Subtypes for Each Claim Bundle Type
, you can breakdown a claim bundle type further into subtypes (for example, the
Cumulative Claim
bundle type can be broken down into the
Earthquake
,
Flood
and
Hurricane
subtypes)
Cumulative claim
A tornado hit Florida. The area it covered and the time scale involved (region affected and exact start and end time) can be clearly determined.
When a claim handler creates a claim from the affected region with a suitable incident type, he/she can assign the new claim to the appropriate claim bundle.
Result: Claim bundle “Catastrophe”, tornado “Hanna”, overview possible of how many claims have been caused by tornado “Hanna”, to pass on to reporting points, for example. There might be legal requirements for an insurance company to report such claims.
Claim aggregate
An automobile manufacturer brings a new model onto the market, and insures itself against product defects. Almost immediately there are quite a lot of cases of defective brake pipes. These claims can be aggregated according to certain criteria, so that the insurance company can easily obtain an overview of the costs caused by defective brake pipes in the first three months after a new model has been delivered to customers.
Environmental loss
There has been an emission of hazardous substances from an industrial plant. All affected contracts (buildings, liability, and so on) for this industrial plant are entered for this claim, with the appropriate region and time period. All claims against one or more of these contracts within the correct time period and with the appropriate incident types can be grouped together to form a claim bundle.
