With this business function, you can use new functions in the Recycling Administration (REA) component. Particularly the functions for automatic configuration help you to significantly accelerate configuration of the REA component.

Features

Automatic Configuration

You can set up part of the component-specific Customizing automatically. A Business Configuration Set is available to you for this purpose. You can also open the tools for importing and exporting recycling partner master data directly from the application for editing recycling partners.

Packaging Without Material Master Record

You can create packaging without reference to a material master record and use it in your processes, for example, if it does not make good business sense to create a particular material master record in your system or if you do not want to work with material master records at all. If you want to create packaging items for test or simulation purposes, you can also dispense with assignments to material master records.

Variants

You can create several versions of an article, reference article, or packaging in the system as variants of the respective object if you do not want to map these versions as different articles, reference articles, or packaging, but still need to or want to distinguish between the various versions in your processes. A Business Add-In is available with which you can control the use of variants in your business processes.

Enhanced Price and Cost Calculation

You can use the following additional functions when calculating prices and costs:

  • You have the option of using a Business Add-In to adapt the algorithms used by the system to calculate prices and costs to meet your requirements.

  • You can also run a price calculation for master data objects even if you have not saved this master data.

  • When running a price calculation for master data objects, you can display a log of the calculation steps and any errors in the calculation.

  • You can speed up price and cost calculations by specifying that the system should buffer data.

Enhanced Authorization Concept

A new authorization object is available for the new functions relating to variants. There are also new roles available that encompass the functions of the Recycling Administration component.

Determination of Transaction Data

When determining transaction data that is used in the processes of the Recycling Administration component, you can use any data sources you require. In addition to the previously available functions for determining transaction data from SAP components (billing documents in the Sales and Distribution component and material movements in the Materials Management component) and billing data from non-SAP systems, there is a new Business Add-In (Universal Data Collector) available, which you can use to determine transaction data from any data source. You can use this function when creating declarations and in cost and customer analysis.

Workflows

The following workflows are available:

  • Edit Inconsistent Article

    This workflow can be triggered by the system if the collective consistency check identifies an article whose data is inconsistent. The workflow recipient is informed about the data inconsistency and can call the application for editing articles directly to restore the data consistency of the article master data.

  • Edit Missing Article

    This workflow can be triggered by the system if the result log for the declaration identifies a missing article. The workflow recipient is informed about the fact that the object is missing and can call the application for creating an article directly.

  • Create Article for New Material

    This workflow can be triggered by the system if an article may need to be created because a new material master record has been created. The workflow recipient is informed about the new material and can call the application for creating an article directly.

  • Create Packaging for New Material

    This workflow can be triggered by the system if a packaging may need to be created because a new material master record has been created. The workflow recipient is informed about the new material and can call the application for creating a packaging directly.

  • Implement BOM Change

    This workflow can be triggered by the system if an article has to be adjusted as a result of a change to a bill of material because the article uses this bill of material as the basis for packaging assignments. The system attempts to make the adjustment automatically. If this is not possible, the workflow recipient is requested to transfer the change to the bill of material to the article master data manually.

Personalization

You can use additional personalization options in the applications for editing master data:

  • Article: Restriction of the available packaging

  • Packaging: Activation of the filter functions for available fractions

  • Packaging: Automatic adjustment of recycling partner assignments in accordance with fraction assignments

Master Data Enhancements

You can enhance the master data for articles and packaging by adding your own fields and you can integrate these enhancements in your processes.

Integration in Material Master

You can integrate the user interfaces for editing the following assignments into the applications for editing the material master:

  • Assignment of recycling partners to articles

  • Assignment of packaging to articles

  • Assignment of recycling partners to packaging

  • Assignment of fractions to packaging

This allows you to create, display, and edit article and packaging master data directly for a material master record. For more information, see SAP Library under Editing of Master Data in the Material Master.
