 Enhancements for Maintenance Orders

This function provides the following new functions for processing maintenance orders on the SAP Web UI for Plant Maintenance:

  • You can change operations and their suboperations on the Operation Data tab page.

  • In the suboperation details, you can specify an offset between the reference date of the corresponding operation and the start and finish of the suboperation. By doing so, you specify the sequence of the suboperations.

  • In the operation details, you can display splits that you have created in capacity planning for order operations in the corresponding SAP GUI transactions.

  • You can specify which status you want notifications to have when you change the system status of the order. For example, you can specify that when you technically complete an order, all the assigned notifications should also be completed.

  • You can visualize and change relationships between order operations in a graphical editor, which up to now was only possible in the operation details by entering the relationships in a table. For more information about relationships, see the product feature release note Relationships in Orders and Task Lists.

Additional Details

Creating and Changing Suboperations

On the Operation Data tab page, you can use sorting and grouping functions of the List ATS component to display operations and their suboperations in a structure. You can create suboperations by selecting an operation and choosing the pushbutton New, which inserts the suboperation directly under the operation you marked. You can also create suboperations by copying an operation and turning it into a suboperation. You do so by first copying an operation in the list, then manually changing the operation number and entering a suboperation number.

Displaying Splits

To display capacity splits, a new tab page called Requirements is available in the operation details. The table contains all the essential fields of the SAP GUI transactions, such as the names of the people assigned, the suitability percentage, the start and finish times, as well as data regarding the planned and actual work. You can also see which system statuses have been set for the splits in the table column Status.

Specifying the Notification Status Depending on the Order Status

If you have assigned notifications to a maintenance order, you can determine that the status of the notifications depends on the status of the order. When you change the system status of the order, a popup appears so you can decide what you want the system to do with the assigned notifications. In your user default settings for EAM (transaction eam_user), you can also define that the system should always set a specific notification status in conjunction with a specific order status.

Effects on Existing Data

The following enhancements have been made to the SAP Web UI for Plant Maintenance for maintenance orders:

  • On the Operation Data tab page, there is a new table column called Suboperation in which you can display and change the suboperation number. There is also a new pushbutton for creating suboperations called New. By choosing the pushbutton Copy Operation, you can copy selected operations.

  • To enter the offset to the reference date of the operation, there is a new section called Reference to Operation with the new fields Offset to Start and Offset to Finish.

  • To display capacity splits, a new tab page is available in the operation details called Requirements.

  • To make default settings for determining the notification status depending on the order status, the transaction eam_user has a new tab page called EAMS Web UI.

  • To create and change relationships using a graphical editor, there is a new tab page called Relationships.
