Archiving of Weighing Records from the Multiple Item Weighing (IS-U-WA)

Weihing records from the Multiple Item Weighing are archived and deleted by using the archiving object ISU_MWPROC. During archiving, service frequencies that can be archived are written to one or more archive files.

The object ISU_MWPROC for archiving weighing data records reduces the datasets and improves access times significantly. You can use this archiving object to archive weighing data records that are no longer required or are out of date and then delete them from the system. You can start the archiving process with transaction SARA. You can execute the individual steps in the archiving process (preprocessing program, write program, deletion program) as long as no automatic start has been defined for the deletion program in the 'technical settings' of the 'archive-object-specific Customizing'. You can also define the technical values for archiving, such as the name, path, maximum size of the archive file and the retention period.

Retention Period of Archiving Objects

The minimum retention period must have expired in order to be able to archive the weighing data records. You can set the time-based conditions for archiving in the application Customizing. You can specify a minimum retention period for weighing data records in the system. Make these settings in the implementation guide (IMG), under Start of the navigation path SAP Utilities Next navigation step Tools Archiving Define Retention Period for Archiving Objects End of the navigation path .

ILM Activities:

You can use this archiving object in Information Lifecycle Management. A prerequisite is that you have activated the associated business functions. The system then also displays the ILM actions group box. You can use these actions to perform archiving in which the retention periods defined in the Information Retention Manager are evaluated. You can also make snapshots (copies) of data and destroy data that meets the appropriate criteria.
