 MTO Production for Material Variants (26)

Purpose

This strategy is similar to Make-to-Order Production (20) . The difference is that strategy 26 lets you change the configuration of the variant.

Prerequisites

You must maintain the following master data settings:

  • One configurable material with the standard configuration data such as characteristics, classes, and configuration profiles.

  • One variant for defined combinations of characteristics values. Limit the number of combinations.

Process Flow

  1. Stage 1: Demand Management

  2. Does not apply.

  3. Stage 2: Procurement Before Sales

  4. Does not apply.

  5. Stage 3: Sales Order

  6. You create a sales order either directly by entering a variant or a configurable material and using variant determination. The system finds the requirement type KEL because the strategy group has been set to 26 . To display the requirement type from the Sales Order screen, choose Procurement tab strip.

  7. Stage 4: Procurement After Sales

  8. Make-to-Order production of the finished product takes place.

  9. Stage 5: Goods Issue for Delivery and Reduction of Planned Independent Requirements

Delivery of the finished product takes place.
