Procedure documentationArchiving or Destroying Account Master Data with FIBA_ACCNT

You can use the Accounts (FIBA_ACCNT) archiving object to archive, block, or destroy account master data. This type of data may contain data that is classified as personal data in terms of data protection. Regulations in your country may mean that you need to destroy this data after a defined retention period has expired.

You can define different residence rules (for archiving and blocking) or retention rules (destruction) for the object.

This archiving object supports the SAP NetWeaver Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) function for archiving and destroying. When you archive the data, it is deleted from the system but kept in the archive file. After the retention period has expired, the data is destroyed. To destroy data without archiving it first, select the Data Destruction checkbox under ILM Actions in the Write program.

Note Note

To display an overview of the database tables that are archived with this archiving object, choose Database Tables in Archive Administration (transaction SARA).

To display data such as the archiving programs used, call transaction AOBJ and double-click the archiving object in the list.

End of the note.

Prerequisites

  • You have activated the Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) business function in the Switch Framework (transaction SFW5).

  • You have activated the Data Archiving: Standardization of Archiving Objects - Data Privacy (DA_ARCHOBJ_STANDARD_2 ) business function in the Switch Framework (transaction SFW5).

  • You are familiar with the functions for ILM policies and rules and have defined the retention rules and the residence rules for the archiving object in transaction IRMPOL.

Procedure

  1. Learn more about the characteristics of this archiving object.

    More information: Characteristics of FIBA_ACCNT.

  2. Learn more about the technical data of this archiving object.

More information: Technical Data of FIBA_ACCNT.

  3. Learn more about the ILM-related information for this archiving object.

More information: ILM-related Information for FIBA_ACCNT.

  4. Learn more about the checks for this archiving object.

    More information: Checks of FIBA_ACCNT.

  5. The Business Add-In (BAdI) BAdI: Check if Object Can be Archived (BADI_BKK_ARCHIVING_CHECK) is available for this archiving object. For more information, see transaction SE18 in the SAP system.

  6. Define a Preprocessing variant.

In the preprocessing step, the system analyzes the Bank Customer Accounts data according to the business logic, then flags the data for deletion if the following applies:

    • The account is closed or was created as an offer (quotation).

    • The status is Inactive.

    • The residence time has elapsed.

The archiving reports for all dependent archiving objects then read this flag when they read the account master data. If the deletion flag is set, all business checks are skipped in the dependent objects, meaning that all their entries can be archived regardless of any business checks except the check for the residence time.

The status of the data that can be archived is set to Archivable and the data is passed to the Write program for further processing.

  7. Define a Write variant.

The Write program for this archiving object checks that all dependent business objects are archived before the account master data is archived.

  8. Display the data that you have archived.

You can display archived objects in transaction SARA. From the application toolbar, choose Information System then Archive Explorer and Customizing respectively to display the available infostructures and field catalogs of the archive information system:

    • Infostructure: SAP_FIBA_ACCNT

    • Field catalog: SAP_FIBA_ACCNT
