You can use this business function to close the gap between planning and execution, including data at the article, color, and size levels. The new Retail MAP Interface receives inbound assortment planning data from a Merchandise and Assortment Planning solution at the article/color/size level. The inbound data is then transferred to Operational Assortment Planning and Control (OAPC) to create purchasing lists. From the purchasing lists, you can then trigger the follow-on processes such as creation of articles, generation of purchase orders, and support for allocation table generation.

  • In order to allow or disallow planning at certain hierarchy article nodes, you must make entries in the Planning Node/Hierarchy Level Exceptions screen (transaction WRFAPC27). For details, see Exceptions to Article Hierarchy Node Planning in the SAP Library documentation.

  • To create multiple purchasing lists, you must maintain Customizing parameters under Operational Assortment Planning and Control. For details, see Using Sequence Numbers for Unusual Planning Situations in the SAP Library documentation.

  • To use the delivery date rather than the purchasing list item date, you must maintain the Purchasing List Item Date in Customizing for Operational Assortment Planning and Control.

Features

  • Ability to create and change purchasing lists using data imported from an external system.

  • Ability to either create new planned articles, along with their attributes, or use already existing articles

  • Planning information at the level of article, article/color, or article/color/size (variants)

  • Ability to derive prepacks from the assortment information sent from an MAP solution to SAP ERP.

  • Ability to use the delivery date rather than the presentation date as the purchasing list item date. You specify in Customizing which date is to be used.

  • New checkboxes in the Release Planned Material Report (WRFAPC11) and Release Purchasing List Item Report (WRFAPC12) that allow you to force the release of all materials in a purchasing list, even those that have not been flagged for release.

  • Addition of short text descriptions to the purchasing list.

  • Ability to allow or disallow planning for specific article hierarchy nodes to handle exceptions to the general rule. For example, if article hierarchy nodes “Blouses” and “Pants” are on the level of the article hierarchy that is allowed for planning, you could disallow planning for these specific article hierarchy nodes and allow planning for the hierarchy node above them. This allows you to include blouses and pants together in one purchasing list to have a common view.

  • A new sequence number for purchasing list. This allows the creation of multiple purchasing lists for the same hierarchy ID, hierarchy node, assortment type, season year, season and rollout. You activate this parameter in Customizing.
