In payment transactions it is possible to return items that are already posted to customer accounts or CpD (suspense) accounts. We differentiate here between payment items that are to be returned and free returns that are not managed as payment items in the system.
For a return, the system creates a payment order with the ordering party and recipient of the return. The system creates payment notes for this payment order from the original payment notes and standard texts. Then the items of the payment order are updated and all other positions on the returned payment item (charges, and so on) are reversed.
You need to make the following definitions for returns in the Implementation Guide (IMG) by choosing
.For every transaction type you define the transaction types for the updating of the corresponding item on the customer account/CpD (suspense) account and for the return posting.
You specify the recipient of any necessary notifications.
You define the composition of the payment notes for the return.
For check returns you define how any existing guaranteed amounts are to be debited (only applies to banks).
Returns are executed as part of payment transactions.
