  Periodic Tasks

Functions that are to be run on a certain date in a defined time cycle are summarized under periodic tasks.

The periodic tasks include:

Setting the posting cut-off
  • You postpone the posting date to the next posting day, either manually or automatically.

Cash concentration
  • Account carryforwards are posted with the current date (system proposal) as the posting and value date.

Standing order run (banks only)
  • Due standing orders are executed.

Planned items
  • Planned items whose posting date matches the posting date in the system are posted. (See also Processing Planned Items ).

Forward order
Account balancing
  • You can balance accounts either in a mass run or an individual run. If you have entered the corresponding settings, interest is also compensated during account balancing.

Fixed-Term deposit
  • The contract amount is collected on the collection date. Term agreements are fixed on the term start date. Correspondence for the prenotification of maturity is initiated on the predefined date. Term agreements are called if the maturity date has been reached (see also: Fixed-Term Deposit Processing ).

Account closure
  • Accounts intended for closure on this date are closed.

Bank statements
  • Bank statements are managed fully in the current account system. The data is provided by means of an interface.

Balance notification
  • The system creates a balance notification with the posting date-based balance. You can specify how the balance is to be output and to whom it is addressed.

Tolerated overdraft
  • The system determines the accounts whose holders need to be notified about being over the external limit (in accordance with the consumer credit law), and creates the notification.

General ledger transfer
  • Transfer of the summarized turnovers to the general ledger.

Currency changeover
  • You can set the changeover date for a selection of accounts and run the changeover for selected accounts.

End-of-day processing
  • You can start processing all periodic tasks in a group, which you can set up first in Customizing.

    Note Note

    Special features:

    • Mass processing can run in the background (batch).

    • You can use parallel processing to improve system performance, whereby the accounts are divided into intervals and transferred to different jobs. Customizing settings enable you to control the number and distribution of the jobs to different computers.

    End of the note.
Application logs
  • Prepared call-ups of the application log are available for the evaluation of all periodic tasks.
