Function documentationMaintenance Plan

You can use the Maintenance Plan application to create, change, and display maintenance plans of the following types:

  • Time-based and performance-based single-cycle plans

  • Strategy plans

  • Multiple-counter plans

Integration

  • This application is based on the back-end transactions for creating, changing, and displaying maintenance plans (IP41, IP42, IP43, IP04, and IP03), but with a reduced and more streamlined set of data entry options and functions. These are described in this document.

  • The embedded search of SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search is integrated into the input help for selecting maintenance items and task lists.

Features

You can view and edit the following maintenance plan information:

  • Maintenance items

For each maintenance item, you can view and edit general information such as reference object, planning data, call object type (for example, PM01 if the call object to be generated is an order), and reference task list. You can also view the location and account assignment information for the maintenance item. If the maintenance object is a linear asset, you can also view its linear data.

You can assign maintenance items to the maintenance plan by creating new items or selecting existing ones. It is also possible to delete existing assignments.

  • Planning data

You can view and edit the maintenance cycles of the maintenance plan. If the maintenance plan is a strategy plan, the assigned maintenance strategy determines the maintenance cycles. Note that you specify the maintenance strategy when creating a new strategy plan; you cannot subsequently change it. It is also possible to view the maintenance strategy as defined in Customizing.

If the maintenance plan is performance based, you can assign a counter or counters. It is also possible to display assigned counters in the corresponding Web Dynpro application.

You can view and edit other scheduling information specific to the maintenance plan, including, for example, shift factors and call control parameters.

  • Maintenance calls

You can view the scheduled maintenance calls for the maintenance plan. You can also display any call objects that have already been generated in the corresponding Web Dynpro applications.

Additional Functions

The following additional functions are available from the corresponding menu:

  • Add the maintenance plan to your list of favorites

  • Deactivate and reactivate the maintenance plan
