Function documentationConnection to the SAP Retail System

You can exchange the following data between SAP F&R and the standard system (SAP Retail system):

  • Master data (transferred from SAP Retail to SAP F&R)

  • Transaction data (transferred from SAP Retail to SAP F&R)

  • Order proposals (transferred from SAP F&R to SAP Retail)

  • Purchase orders (transferred from SAP Retail to SAP F&R)

Prerequisites

  • If you want to connect the standard system with SAP F&R you have to define SAP ECC as an SAP Retail system.

  • The connection is available for the following releases:

    • SAP ECC 600

    • SAP ECC 500 with Plug-In (SP10 PI 2004_1_500)

    • SAP R/3 4.70 (Enterprise) with Plug-In (SP10 PI 2004_1_470)

    • SAP R/3 4.6C with Plug-In (SP10 PI 2004_1_46C)

Activities

You always start the transfer to SAP F&R from the standard system. There are reports for collecting, preparing, and sending data from the standard system. You can schedule these reports for background processing once or several times a day. The reports call function modules in SAP F&R that start the import of data in SAP F&R.

You always start the transfer to the standard system from SAP F&R. The standard system buffers the imported order proposals internally and then converts them successively into purchase orders.

The standard interface has the following limitations:

  • You must transfer generic articles and structured articles (prepack, set, display) from an SAP Retail system into SAP F&R as follows: SAP F&R adopts the variants of generic articles as single articles. When structured articles are involved, you can decide whether you want the sending system to send the components or the header articles (analogous to generic articles). The order data interface in SAP F&R cannot re-merge these variants or components, however, but you can still transfer them to SAP F&R for replenishment planning there.

  • For sources of supply, you can transfer contracts, purchasing info records, supplying site relationships, and source list data from the site master data of an SAP Retail system into SAP F&R. Scheduling agreements are not considered in SAP F&R.

To use the source list lane option mentioned above, you must activate the business function SCM-FRE, Replenishment and Optimization in F&R (SCM_FRE_OPTIM).
