Displaying Web Content with Dynamic List on a PageLocate this document in the navigation structure

Context

You can use the Dynamic List to visualize a list with links to the Web forms within a page. These Web forms are stored in the KM folders. Every item of the Dynamic List represents a single Web form and allows access to it. By default, the items in the list are displayed with a title, an image, and a short description. When you choose an item from the list, the corresponding Web form is displayed in a new detailed window.

In the standard delivery the Dynamic List can display an Article from the Web forms delivered by SAP. If you want to display in the list your custom forms and they are structured differently from the Article, you must work through some configuration steps.

Procedure

  1. In the Content Editor , open the page content for editing.
  2. From the Content Templates section, drag the Dynamic List onto the page.
  3. In the Dynamic List , choose Options and then choose Settings .
  4. The Properties editor opens in a separate window and you can specify the relevant values for the properties of the Dynamic List .

    Description

    Target Folder

    Specify the location of the folder containing the items to be displayed in the Dynamic List . For example, /pccshrcontent/news/hotnews/july .

    Note

    If a user has no access permission for the specified folder containing the items, he or she cannot see the items displayed in the Dynamic List at runtime.

    Layout

    Select the layout for displaying the items.

    Theme

    Select the theme for the items.

    Number of Items

    Select the number of items to be displayed in the Dynamic List .

    Sort By

    Select the sorting criteria. You can select one of these options: Created On or Last Modified On .

    Sort Order

    Select the sorting order.
  5. Save your changes.
