Postprocessing for REM Planned Orders in SAP R/3

Purpose

In SAP R/3, if a component is not available in stock in the backflush, the SAP R/3 system creates a postprocessing record. In a repetitive manufacturing planned order with interchangeable components, a postprocessing record might be created if you have planned component substitutions in SAP APO but did not perform an ATP check for the planned order. This meant that you did not adopt the available substitute components in the planned order. The planned order still contains the original component whose stock has possibly been used up already. This process describes how you execute postprocessing for an original component that is still only partly available.

Process Flow

  1. You post the postprocessing record in the postprocessing list using the existing stock for the original component. If no more stock is available, you can also delete the postprocessing record completely.

  2. You enter a component backflush without a BOM explosion in the REM Backflush . You manually enter the successor component in the required quantity in the component list. If you save the backflush, the system executes a goods issue posting with reference to the cost collector for this component.
