Adoption of Substitute Components in Project Order

Use

To take account of product interchangeability and to update the components of a project order based on the supersession chain, the ATP checkis available in PP/DS.

Using the ATP check in the project order, you update the components and dependent requirements in the project order based on the current availability situation of the components in the supersession chain. The ATP check is relevant in particular if you process project orders in SAP R/3 and you want to update the component substitutions in the order after a planning change.

Prerequisites

So that both functions provide an effective (that is, executable) result, and the project order then contains as many up-to-date and available components as possible, you should:

  • Plan the product substitutions beforehand in SAP APO using an MRP planning run.

  • Execute these functions as short as possible before the order execution and therefore based on the most up-to-date planning possible.
