Function documentationMerging Transaction Data with Replacement Relationships

During switchover to the replacement product, the system merges stocks, consumptions and open order proposals of the original and replacement products according to the settings in the substitution merge profile.

Features

The system merges differently depending on whether the location product belonging to the replacement product is contained in the standard assortment or not.

Note Note

The system evaluates the listing information that is valid on the planning date (the system uses the formula "planning date minus one day"). If a location product is listed for a planning date, the product belongs to the standard assortment.

End of the note.
Replacement product not contained in assortment
  • During the merge period, the system uses the merge results when planning the original product. The system uses the following algorithms for merging the consumption, stock, and order proposal data:

    • Merged consumption (original product) = actual consumption of original product + actual consumption of replacement product

    • Merged stock (original product) = current stock of original product + current stock of replacement product

    • Merged open order proposals (original product) = current open order proposals of original product + current open order proposals of replacement product

  • Location product for replacement product is not contained in the assortment

Replacement product contained in assortment

The system uses the consumption, stock, and order proposal data here differently to the case above:

Consumption data

The merged consumption data serves as a forecast basis. The system uses the following procedures for merging:

  • no merging

Only the actual consumption data of the original and replacement products serves as a forecast basis.

  • Customer-specific

Merging of the consumption data results from the implementation of the Business Add-In BAdI: FRP - Merging of Stock and Consumption.

  • Daily forecast

For the original and replacement products, the system uses the forecast data (current values) that has been created in a previous forecast run as merged consumption data.

  • daily forecast or corrected consumption

The system calculates the merged consumption data as follows:

    • for the original product from the forecast data (current values) of the original product that has been created in a previous forecast run

    • for the replacement product from the actual consumption data of the replacement product, corrected with the forecast data (current values) of the original product that has been determined in a previous forecast run

  • Average

For the original and replacement products, the system uses the average consumption data in each case as merged consumption data.

Stock data

The system uses the merged stock and order data for requirements calculation. The system uses the following algorithms for merging the stock data:

  • no merging

The system uses only the actual stock data of the original and replacement products for the requirements calculation.

  • Customer-specific

Merging of the stock data results from the implementation of the Business Add-In BAdI: FRP - Merging of Stock and Consumption.

  • Consideration of goods receipt quantities

The system calculates the merged stock data as follows:

    • for the original product: from the current stock of the original product, increased by the quantity of the replacement product that has been delivered in place of the original product and decreased by the sum of merged consumption less actual consumption of the original product

    • for the replacement product: from the current stock of the replacement product, decreased by the quantity of the replacement product that has been delivered in place of the original product and increased by the sum of merged consumption less actual consumption of the original product

Open order proposals (order proposal quantities)

The system uses the following algorithms for merging:

  • no merging

The system uses only the the actual open order proposals of the original and replacement products for the requirements calculation.

  • merging

SAP F&R calculates the merged open order proposals on the following basis:

    • for the original product: from the open order proposals with the original product and the open order proposals with the replacement product, that SAP F&R has imported as a result of a substitution in the logistics system.

    • for the replacement product: from the open order proposals with the replacement product. The system does not take into account here the open order proposals with the replacement product that SAP F&R has imported as a result of a substitution in the logistics system.

Note Note

Merging of stocks and open order proposals is only logical if the connected logistics system also transfers - as part of the switchover and switch back information given to SAP F&R - the numbers of the procurement documents (as reference document numbers) in which a substitution has taken place within logistics. Only when this information is available, can SAP F&R determine the orders with the replacement product belonging to the original product.

End of the note.
