If you transfer a purchase requisition into the SAP R/3 system, with the conversion indicator set , the purchase requisition in the SAP R/3 system is automatically immediately converted into a purchase order.

In the following cases you may not transfer a purchase requisition with the conversion indicator set into the SAP R/3 system.

Since no purchase requisition exists in the SAP R/3 system after the transfer due to the automatic conversion, you cannot create any purchase order with reference to a purchase requisition. You may only set the conversion indicator for the purchase requisition after the purchase requisition has been successfully transferred to the SAP R/3 system without the indicator being set, and then retransferred to the SAP APO system.

You have to transfer the purchase requisition to the SAP R/3 system and manually convert the purchase requisition into a purchase order there.

Prerequisites

So that a purchase requisition can be automatically converted into a purchase order, a source of supply must be assigned to the purchase requisition in SAP APO.
