Technical Completion of the Manufacturing Order

Use

Technical completion of the manufacturing order closes the order for production.

Features

Once technical completion has taken place the order no longer carries any receipts or requirements. It is not longer taken into account in material requirements planning (MRP). Because all capacity commitments are deleted it is no longer valid for capacity planning. Subsequent actual postings (confirmations, goods receipts and issues) are still possible.

Activities

The effects of technical completion of the manufacturing order in SAP R/3 are as follows:

SAP R/3

SAP APO

The manufacturing order istechnically completedin SAP R/3.

As a result, the order is no longer relevant for material requirements planning (on either requirements or receipt side) and is also no longer relevant for capacity planning.

SAP APO deletes the order and all capacity commitments and all expected receipts and requirements.

The technical completion is returned to SAP R/3.

SAP APO creates the order again with its current status.

You should carry out technical completion of manufacturing orders in SAP R/3 regularly and promptly in order to keep the number of orders in SAP APO as low as possible and to ensure that system performance remains consistent.

You can use mass processing in SAP R/3 to technically close multiple orders using certain criteria (for example all orders for which full delivery has taken place).
