 DIF External Data Display

Use

For DIFs using external data, only dummy occurrences exist. They contain no actual values or validity periods. The External Data Display lists the actual validity periods (valid from and valid to) and values by location and product for these DIFs. It also shows header information about the DIF occurrence using this external data.

The values are displayed as they are used in the forecast calculation; that is, including any scaling factors applied to the original values. The list also indicates whether there was a field overflow or a zero result when applying the scaling factor.

Recommendation Recommendation

The amount of external data to be displayed for a single DIF occurrence can be very large, since a DIF occurrence can be assigned to a large number of locations and products. Therefore, it is suggested that you restrict the data to be displayed before you make your selection. You can make restrictions based on location, product, and time period

End of the recommendation.

The External Data Display only allows you to view the data. You cannot make any adjustments to it.
