Function documentationSplitting an Order Proposal

Using this function, you can break an order proposal down into its order proposal items. You can use this function, for example, if you want to bring the delivery date for certain order proposal items forward.

Prerequisites

In order to split order proposals on the basis of grouping criteria, you must first define the grouping criteria in Customizing.

For more information on grouping criteria, see the IMG of Forecasting and Replenishment under Start of the navigation path Order Proposal Management Next navigation step Order Proposal Configuration Settings Next navigation step Definition of Order Proposal Grouping Criteria End of the navigation path.

You can only split released order proposals that are changeable (released, transferred, and locked order proposals cannot be changed).

Features

You can split an order proposal in the following ways:

  • By selected attributes (such as merchandise category, status, processing method, contract number) of the order proposal (system-supported split)

    Example Example

The replenishment planner selects the merchandise category and status as the split criteria. The system groups all order proposal items that have identical merchandise categories and statuses into new order proposals. It is therefore possible that order proposals containing only one order proposal item are created.

    End of the example.
  • By release status of the order proposal items

  • By the grouping criteria in Customizing for order proposal management

  • By the grouping criteria in Customizing and also by the order proposal grouping levels in the transportation lanes for subranges (FRP split)

  • Manually

The system does not check for restrictions and release conditions. After the split, the order proposals have identical values in the selected fields.

If exceptions occur during splitting, these are given the new order proposal numbers. On the order proposal display screen, the system replaces the original order proposal with the new ones.

Activities

When you have selected an order proposal in the navigation tree, you can choose the Order Proposal Split function. Select a method and (if you use the system-supported split) the attributes for the split operation. The system then performs the split.
