Function documentationInbound Interface for Switchover and Switch Back Information

With this interface, you can import data to SAP F&R including data on a switchover from the original product to the substitute product and also on a switch back from the replacement product to the original product:

  • Original product

  • Substitute product

  • Receiving location

  • Location type of receiving location

  • Issuing location

  • Location type of issuing location

  • Substitution control with the following types:

    • Follow-up product, time-controlled

    • Follow-up product, event-controlled

    • Replacement product, event-controlled

  • Switchover date

  • Evaluation date

  • Switchover types:

    • Switchover

    • Switch back

  • Switchover reasons:

    • Event-controlled - Availability check

    • Event-controlled - BAdI

    • Time-controlled

  • Reference document number for original product

Number and item of the procurement document for the original product (in the purchasing system, such as an SAP Retail system), for which the product substitution was made.

  • Reference document number for substitute product

Number and item of procurement document that the system created during product substitution.

  • Order proposal for original product

Number and item of the order proposal for the original product (in the purchasing system, such as an SAP Retail system), for which the product substitution was made.

  • Order proposal for substitute product

Number and item of the order proposal for the substitute product that the system created during product substitution.

Integration

  • You can display data that the system could not post (due to an error) in the interface workbench and you can process it there.

  • When new information is created on switchovers or switch backs in SAP F&R, the SAP-F&R System creates the following exceptions:

    • Exception for the switchover (for follow-up and replacement product)

    • Exception for the switch back (for replacement product)

You can evaluate the generated exceptions in the standard system using the Exception Reporting in your BI or F&R System. This way you can ascertain, for example, how often the system has replaced a product within a certain time period.

  • When importing switchover information with the substitution type follow-up relationship, the system proceeds as follows:

    • It executes a lock logic in the location product.

    • If this is set in the substitution merge profile, then the system sets a reference for the follow-up product: After a switchover to the follow-up product, the system enters the original product as a reference in the follow-up product master data at location product level. If a reference entry already exists here, the system overwrites this. For the follow-up product, the system sets the valid-to date of the reference to the day before the start of the merge period.

Entering the reference has as a consequence that SAP F&R consumption data of the original product (with sales or goods issue date before the switchover date) is used as historical consumption data for the follow-up product.

  • You can display, enrich, and delete switchover and switch back information, as well as create new entries. For more information, see

  • SAP F&R does not plan location products for which a lock on product substitution is set in the master data. This applies to automatic (FRP run) and manual replenishment planning (using the Replenishment Workbench and Product Workbench).

  • If the master data with the substitution assignment contains a substitution merge profile, the system transfers this to the switchover and switch back information.

  • Using the Business Add-In (BAdI) (/FRE/IF_CON_BADI_028), you can enrich and change the imported switchover information specifically for the customer. For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Forecasting and Replenishment under Start of the navigation path Interfaces Next navigation step Enhancements Using Business Add-Ins Next navigation step BAdI: Enrichment of Switchover Information End of the navigation path.

Prerequisites

You carry out interface processing (report /FRE/BIF_INB01) and set the indicator for switchover information under selections for product/target location.

Features

In inbound processing, the system carries out the following checks:

  • The master data on the products, locations, and location products contained in the switchover and switch back information exists in SAP F&R.

  • For the switchover information, there is a substitution assignment in SAP F&R with the following properties:

    • matching original and substitute product

    • matching substitution control

    • the evaluation date of the switchover information is within the switchover period of the substitution assignment

    • Matching of the target location from the switchover information with the location from the substitution assignment (or use of a global assignment).

The system processes substitution assignments with location with greater priority than assignments without location.

  • The system checks and ensures that a location product in SAP F&R appears in no more than one switchover information at any particular time.

The system guarantees the uniqueness of the switchover information by way of one of the following alternatives:

    • It does not post incoming switchover information because other switchover information already exists.

    • It posts incoming switchover information and overwrites existing switchover information.

    • It posts incoming switchover information and deletes existing switchover information.

For more information, see Rules for Processing Incoming Switchover Information.

Note Note

The system can only post the switchover information if the check criteria have been fulfilled; otherwise it flags the switchover information as erroneous and issues an exception.

End of the note.

Activities

  1. The integrated sending system starts the transfer and calls appropriate function module for the interface in SAP F&R. For more information, see the Overview of the Interfaces in SAP F&R.

  2. You then post the data in SAP F&R.
