The forecast frequency determines how often you run the forecast. You use this function as a replenishment planner to define the forecast frequency.
Assign the forecast frequency profile to the relevant location products in the process control profile for the location or in mass processing for location products.
You maintain the process control profile in Customizing. For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Forecasting and Replenishment
under .
To start mass maintenance for location products, go to the SAP Easy Access
screen and choose .
You assign the process control profile to the location in Administration. To do so, go to the SAP Easy Access
screen and choose .
You have configured the settings for the forecast frequency profile in Customizing. You either use the standard profile (SAPDEFAULT
) or you have defined custom values in a default profile. For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Forecasting and Replenishment
under .
The following frequency types
are available:
Daily
Weekly
Depending on the requirement calculation
Requirement calculation days for the location
The system runs the forecast on the days on which the requirement calculation for the location is performed.
You define the days on which the requirement calculation is performed for the location in the process control profile.
Requirement calculation days for the location product
The system runs the forecast on the order day for the location product. You define the order day for a location product in scheduling.
First requirement calculation day for the location product in a week
The system runs the forecast on the first order day of a week for the location product. If there is more than one order day for the location product in a week, a forecast is performed on the first order day of the week only. There is no forecast on the other order days in the week.
You can carry out the forecast for a location or a location product at different intervals.
The F&R processor derives the frequency of forecast calculation from the forecast frequency profile.
In the process control profile, you select one of the following forecast frequency types
and assign it to a forecast frequency:
Dependent on the ABC classification of the location product
Dependent on the selling class of the location product
Statically for location products
Statically for locations
